Snowflake Challenge 2017 - Day 5

[community profile] snowflake_challenge  - Day 5

In your own space, post recs for at least three fanworks that you did not create.

This is an easy and a difficult task for me. Easy because everything I'm reccing I really love, but also difficult, because HOW TO CHOOSE ONLY THREE?
Oh well, I'll try:

1) [personal profile] turlough's knitting is something that I always admire, but her contribution to Bandom Big Bang this year was the best:
Welcome to the Black (Cat) Parade are knitted MCR-kittens! They're so cute and so well done, up to the uniforms, or the eye-makeup, they were one of my highlights of this year's BBB.

2) I must admit I didn't have time to read all [community profile] bandom_holidays entries yet. But I read "Soon The Bells Will Start" by Jiksa and loved it. It's a funny story about misunderstandings around Christmas resulting in - or not resulting in (no spoilers! ;-)) - a threesome.

3) "Front Row Seats" by LadySmutterella, illustrations by johanirae is a great story about animal transformation which I had expected to be fluffy and funny, but after I had read half of it, I had giggled a lot but also teared up a few times already. A very emotional story that I was very impressed with. The illustrations are brilliant as well.

Snowflake Challenge 2017 - Day 1

I'm late, but that's what happens when I spend New Years Eve at friends and then time at my parents. I had great fun there but no time for memes. But I don't want to miss this year, so here we go:

[community profile] snowflake_challenge  - Day 1

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.

I always liked to rec fics from the last year, but when I look back at 2016, there are actually only three works that I posted over the last 12 months, starting only in September.

But I do like them, so they will be my recs:

1) 100 Ways To Say “I Love You” (not really 100, actually)
It's a collection of drabbles in the Killjoys-universe (bandom) inspired by 100 prompts. I only used 17 in the end, but I quite like how those drabbles turned out to paint a bigger picture of the Killjoys' lives in the desert.

2) Speaking of pictures - for Bandom Big Bang I created Art for "No Future In Our Dreaming" by Prophetic. I was very inspired by the story and my love for London, so I made some art from photographs I had actually taken myself in London over the years.

3) Last, but definitely not least, I took part in Drabble Day 2016 where I wrote drabbles for 10 different fandoms (The Lord of the Rings, Sherlock, Bandom, Star Wars, Fear the Walking Dead, Please Like Me, My Mad Fat Diary, Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Alles was zählt) in 12 hours. That was great fun and an inspiring end to the year.

Snowflake Challenge 2016 - Day 3

[community profile] snowflake_challenge  -  Day 3

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it.

We create stuff because we love doing it, so getting to talk about what we've done and why we love it - how great is that? It doesn't have to be your most popular fanwork, or the one you think is the best representation of what you do. It can be something you did today, or decades ago, whatever you created that you want to share. And remember, we're open to any and all kinds of fanworks. Fic, podfic, knitting, meta, a rec list, fanmix... the list is pretty much endless. If you think it qualifies, then it totally does. End of story :)

1) Icons and Artwork for the Bandom Holiday Exchange 2015
My most recent work. I'm very happy that the recipient liked what I created.

2) Poison Pink
Art and ficlet for a [community profile] bandom_meme  prompt.

3) Oh, Tom
Words for the little known fandom "Alles Was Zählt" which I mentioned in another entry. No knowledge of the fandom is necessary to read this, mostly because I finished an old draft and have no idea myself what exactly this was about. But I liked the sentiment, so I put it on AO3.

Snowflake Challenge 2015 - Day 1

[community profile] snowflake_challenge - Day 1

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.

1)  Artwork and icons
Today also is the reveal of the creators for the [community profile] bandom_holidays fanwork exchange, so I can link to what I created for this challenge:

Artwork and Icons for were_duck

I had written some Killjoys Haikus before and was inspired by them to make the artwork and add two more haikus just for were_duck.

2)  Drabbles
I seem to have the best ideas but cannot write long storylines for them. That's why I like drabbles so much. They're only 100 words, not too many possibilities for grammar-mistakes, but they still tell a story. That's what I try to accomplish.
I found out about this through two Drabble Days, organized by dear friends. Those challenges were great fun and I'm still happy about what I created:

My Drabble Days

3)  Fic
I have written longer pieces. If "longer" means about 1000 words. One fic, actually.
It's for the first fandom I actually participated in, "Alles Was Zählt", a German soap with a gay storyline.
It's revealing or defining as it's explicit and about a threesome, and I like explicit fics about threesomes.

Snowflake Challenge 2014 - Day 1

First of all: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

This is the second time I'm taking part in the [community profile] snowflake_challenge. I'm still not participating a lot anywhere, but I've been reading and enjoying other fanworks during the last year. And through the 2013-challenge I've discovered many new authors and artists I like.

Now for this year's challenge:

[community profile] snowflake_challenge 2014 - Day 1

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator.

Here's my Day 1 )
