[community profile] snowflake_challenge  - Day 11

In your own space, make a list of at least 3 things that you like about yourself.

I'm not good at liking myself. Not sure if that's just a me-thing, a not-being American-thing or something else that lets me shy away from praising my own character-traits.

But anyway....

1) I like my humour. Which is mostly ironic sarcasm, but I find it funny. I learned laughing about myself which wasn't easy.

2) ...

3) ....

Nah, doesn't really feel right. Sorry. Failed this challenge.

Having a sense of humour is essential to a good life, I've always thought.

I don't think you've failed in the slightest. I don't think it is possible to fail these challenges. And, a good sense of humour is an awesome thing.

Sarcasm! [This is exciting to me as a sarcasm enthusiast. It's also not something I think that one sees a lot of online, just because it's so much harder to convey - even in RL there are people who will miss it - so people are mostly not sarcastic and do not mention being sarcastic in RL because it doesn't transfer over. *high-fives you with great sincerity* (There is no sarcasm in this comment aside from the topic.)]

Oh, man, I am so baffled by winks. I am not fluent in winking at all in any form, it just makes me stare in confusion, like, I have no idea what is happening. Did you forget to hit shift? Am I some sort of accessory now? Is the broccoli a secret? What is happening?

I picked up sarcasm way ahead of my peers, which was not really a fun time for me. (*says something sarcastic* "[personal profile] kiki_eng likes A Boy!" *headdesk*)

We do need codified sarcasm marks for conversation, I feel. I think with longer pieces it gets conveyed, but if it's just like a sentence - nope. I've done the coding thing some, I think, like: "/sarcasm", but that is kinda clunky.

Not sure if that's just a me-thing, a not-being American-thing or something else that lets me shy away from praising my own character-traits.

I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with not being an American. I think it has to do with societies which tend to tell us from a very early age that pride is a bad thing, and that we shouldn't praise ourselves.

But no, you didn't fail. There's no wrong way to do these challenges. <3
